Wrapping Your Business Vehicles? 4 Things You Should Consider

Sensis Master • May 6, 2022

Wrapping your company vehicles is an easy and cost-effective way to advertise your business and build your brand image. The underlying principle when wrapping the cars is to ensure that the wrap serves its primary purpose: to promote the business. This post explains what companies should consider when wrapping cars.

1. Type of wrap

Your business needs should determine the type of wrap to use on your vehicles. For instance, do you plan to replace the wrap regularly? You might need to replace the wrap every few weeks when running a marketing campaign. In this case, consider a lower-quality wrap to save costs.

If you do not intend to replace the wrap in the future, insist on high-quality vinyl wraps that mimic the car paint and do not fade with exposure to UV light. Moreover, consider high-quality overlaminate such as cast laminate. Low-quality materials such as calendared vinyl will fade, bubble or tear after a few weeks.

Do you need a partial or complete wrap? A full wrap covers all areas of the vehicle's exterior, including the roof and bumpers. It enables the designer to include more details in the wrap and use a larger font.

Conversely, a partial wrap covers some of the vehicle's sides. Its downside is that once you remove the wrap, the car will have uneven paint shades since the exposed parts will have faded paint. Therefore, the vehicle might need a fresh coat of paint.

2. Wrap design

Your guiding principle when designing the wrap is that it should be simple. Remember, the vehicle will be moving. Therefore, if you include too many details, it would be difficult for people to get the advertising message.

Your brand name should occupy a significant section of the wrap. Moreover, you should indicate what your company deals with and what your contacts and social media handles are. Add a QR code for your audience. This way, anyone who sees your business vehicle can contact your customer care representatives or visit your website.

Preferably, go for bright colours since they are eye-catching. Also, include photographic images of what your business does. For instance, a spanner indicates a mechanical or plumbing service, while a tyre hints at a tyre dealer or repair service. The photos will arouse the interest of your target audience since they have a clue about the services you provide.

Ideally, each side of the vehicle should have similar details. Remember, your audience will view the advert from different sides. Therefore, you must ensure that they will see similar information regardless of the angle they view the vehicle.

3. Legal considerations

The advert must comply with the country's advertising standards. For instance, it should not contain misleading claims that could distract other motorists or become offensive to other people. In some cases, you might not be conversant with the advertising code. Therefore, work with experienced signage companies with a reputation for complying with the local advertising regulations.

4. Wrap pricing

The wrap pricing is a significant concern for any business. Consequently, contact a few reputable wrapping companies and ask for a quote. Your shortlisted companies should offer a comprehensive package that includes vehicle preparation for wrapping, wrap design and installation. Moreover, when comparing the quotes, ask the companies to declare the quality of the wrap and provide a warranty.

Choose the company that offers the highest-quality service at a reasonable cost. Moreover, ask for a discount. Most companies will be willing to discount their services to create long-term relationships with new clients.
